Yesterday we announced our support of ActionAid, an international antipoverty organization.

Who is ActionAid?:
This non-profit has grown exponentially since its founding in 1972, allowing the organization to currently serve over 13 million of the world’s poorest and most disadvantaged people. ActionAid partners locally in 42 countries to provide food, shelter, work, education and healthcare. Funds are raised primarily through the United States and Europe and are used for country programs in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

How do they use JReport?
JReport provides reporting for over 400 active end users from ActionAid’s Nkonsonkonson (NK) Sponsor Management System. End users can create ad hoc reports through the NK system that seamlessly embed into the existing application, appearing coded and branded as ActionAid.

By using JReport to manage the global data within existing monitoring and evaluation tools, ActionAid can better prove its fiscal responsibility and impact by reporting those results. JReport assists ActionAid’s goals by capturing and loading data that displays visually in charts, reports and dashboards. The reports add direct value to ActionAid’s senior management by enabling them to make better business decisions and improving their sponsorship retention rate.

“Fighting poverty is especially important in this global economic climate. Now more than ever, we stand committed to supporting organizations like ActionAid,” said Dr. Yao, Founder and CEO of Jinfonet Software.

How can I join the movement to end poverty?
ActionAid’s 390,000 sponsors help children and their communities in over 30 countries. Donations enable ActionAid to design and implement targeted programs in more than 400 communities, aiming to empower women, men and children to realize their most basic human rights. Child sponsors regularly receive messages from their child, along with detailed reports on how their gifts are being spent in the communities.

“Sponsoring a child is amazing,” said Gillian Pope, a longstanding sponsor from Great Britain. “It isn’t just giving money; I get such a lot of satisfaction from the experience because it’s so much more personal. You really get to see the difference that you make. And I have become emotionally attached to the children I’ve sponsored over the years.”
