Everyone always asks about JReport being ’embedded.’ Well, we mean that it can embedded across the four layers of a Java application.

First, at the presentation layer, our tool can natively embed through the use of our TagLib and JSPs into the Credit Scoring application. The UI will look and act like a modern, Java-based application. You can customize JReport to the exact look and feel of an organizations standard. JReport delivers functionality complete, enterprise-class, pixel-perfect report reports. At last count, more than 1 million end-users use JReport every day.

Second, at the application logic layer, JReport can natively access the Java objects from an application as well as the RDBMS. You have complete control over the caching & timing of the data. You can embed JReport in the last 5% of the application logic workflow,  and the application calculates the 95% of the other parameters, these will be passed to JReport.

These parameters will personalize the report to be shown to the analyst, the report will summarize the information, put it in the right context for the end-user. The end-user can review all of the best information currently available, make a decision on how to trade the commercial paper. Because JReport is embedded in the application logic, the end-user can click on a item of interest, the application developer can embed a URL that can then invoke the right trading function.

Third, JReport can be deployed natively on your application server. You can preserve your independence from all of the expensive hardware vendors and re-use other servers for the reporting system. In addition, because JReport is the most J2EE compliant reporting engine, the application continues to leverage all of the scalability and performance advantages of J2EE. And, as your application grows, JReport can be clustered to scale to meet all future end-users who will need access to the information.

At the fourth level, the data access level, JReport can natively access the EJBs you are using as part of the application. We can read the data sets in your application data sources sources as well, and as data comes in to the system in real-time via XML feeds, we can read and present this information to the end-users.
